Intern - Quality Engineer - Plymouth, MN - Summer 2026
Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in 3 month paid intern opportunities at our site in Plymouth, MN. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.
Your role:
- Assist in sustaining engineering projects to drive cost improvements and maintain product quality.
- Support production lines to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards for medical devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including NPI teams, to develop, validate, and execute inspection methods.
- Participate in root cause investigations for non-conformance issues and help develop corrective actions.
- Gain hands-on experience in the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations.
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting to support quality improvement initiatives & participate in internal audits and inspections as needed.
You're the right fit if:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or similar).
- Having completed two years toward degree program
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and apply engineering principles.
- Basic understanding of quality systems and medical device regulations is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience or coursework related to quality engineering or manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The hourly pay range for this position in Plymouth, MN is $25.00 to $29.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Plymouth, MN.
