The Electrical Engineering Intern will be part of the Drinking Water business unit and gain valuable exposure to our product development processes. This internship provides the opportunity to contribute directly to the design, development, and launch of innovative products that bring safe, sustainable drinking water solutions to market. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on experience in engineering practices, testing, and project execution.
Key Focus Areas
Support new product development initiatives from concept through prototyping and testing with a focus on electrical and electronic systems
Participate in cross-functional project team meetings to gain exposure to collaboration across engineering, product management, manufacturing, and quality.
Assist in building, wiring, and evaluating electrical prototypes and firmware testing
Conduct research, data collection and basic analysis to support in electrical design decisions and product improvements
Learn and apply Zurn Elkay's NPD processes, tools, and best practices related to electrical design and development
Document findings, test results, and recommendations in support of product development activities.
Provide general electrical engineering support to the NPD team on active projects.
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field
Strong interest in electrical systems and electronics product design and development.
Basic understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and components.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Hands-on aptitude and willingness to learn through practical project experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with relevant CAD tools such as Altium, LabView, electrical schematics, or test equipment is a plus.
