The client is seeking a Director of Analytics and Data Engineering to lead their company-wide data strategy, data ecosystem, and data organization. This role is integral to turning data into a strategic asset by architecting a modern data stack that supports real-time analytics, forecasting, machine learning insights, and regulatory reporting. The position involves building semantic layers, unified source of truth datasets, and experimentation frameworks to facilitate high-quality telemetry and ensure that product, commercial, risk, and compliance teams have timely, trusted data for driving various strategies and models. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing enterprise data strategy, including roadmaps, data product vision, and multi-year investment planning. Key responsibilities include managing data governance, cataloging, lineage, metadata, access controls, and auditability. The role also involves developing modern data architecture with real-time pipelines, event streaming, warehousing, and orchestration for analytics and machine learning. Leadership in analytics and data science is critical, encompassing business intelligence, self-service analytics, dashboarding, reporting, and risk scoring while supporting cross-functional partnerships to enhance product innovation, financial modeling, and market expansion. The ideal candidate should have over 10 years of data experience with at least 3 years in senior leadership within high-growth fintech or regulated financial services. They must demonstrate proven expertise in building and scaling enterprise data ecosystems and strong leadership and communication skills. Technical proficiency in cloud warehouses, modeling, ETL, orchestration, and business intelligence is required, along with strong SQL and familiarity with Python. Experience with AWS data services and infrastructure as code is essential, with additional experience in crypto, gaming, or internal tooling as a bonus.
